Ailee began Vision Therapy with illegible handwriting, and an unwillingness to read out loud and write more than required, and very little spatial awareness. Through her VT, she balance is more controlled and stable. While she still does not care to read, her reading ability has improved. Her penmanship has improved greatly. I have seen her artwork improve immensely. She has such a passion for sketching, and it has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 9 months. This tells me she has way more control over penmanship, but also visually. She sketches, shades, and highlights depth in her art work. Before, when she’d write a story, literally, I could hardly read it. Just yesterday, she wrote willingly a 3+ page creative story that was not only descriptive, but also legible. Her physical coordination also has improved along with her confidence in her ability. We see this especially in her swimming. Her strokes are much more fluid and clean. Overall we are extremely pleased with her progress in VT. Her handwriting is not always neat, but it’s not because she can’t write neatly, it’s because she doesn’t want to do it…. Preteens!!!
